Who can get through a day of the 2016 presidential campaign and not think of this? Here's part of how my mom did it in the late 1930s and the 1940s. I didn't know what she had in mind when she raised us as if there was no such thing as boys' work or…Continue

I've returned from my Road Scholar trip to Northern Spain. Walking 60 miles on the Camino de Santiago was a good experience. We had lots of time in the "big" cities to see the sites and explore. A highlight was wandering the Evolution Museum in Burgos (google it) on some free time. While the other 7 group members were "religious" and interested in cathedrals and St. James mythology, I was there for the hiking and nature activities. To each his own. Good food, lots of wine, nice weather, an overall worthwhile experience. Covid testing and air flight hassles made life quite stressful, however. Whew! Good to be back home.

That's very good to hear, Chris. I hope the healing goes well. Will Luca be having regular check-ups or visits from a nurse?

That was fun.

Chris I'm so pleased everything went well and you're back home together. Please give Luca our very best.

Great to hear, Chris! So pleased all went well.

So sad Ian, I'm sorry for you! You remind me of a group I know who meet every few weeks to do things that interest them together. Something like that - perhaps find a group on internet.

And we're back! The hermaphrodite has changed places with a woman! We arrived two hours ago and we're both tired out, but Luca's surgery went very well - such a relief! - and now we'll start on a long period of rest and healing. At least I'll have the time to read you!

Sorry to hear that Ian you did look like a nice couple but as you say C'est la vie.

Comment was by Mrs.B on September 14, 2021 at 2:12pm

That's sad, but better to know now than much later.

I'm single again. Elna thought that we were just too different. The trip to Normandy brought things to a head. She couldn't join in my enthusiasm for history, museums and monuments. Other points were that our humour is so different (she thinks that the 'Police Academy' films are hilarious. I don't) and she's extrovert/social whereas I'm introverted and shy. All true, really. It's left a hole in my life, I must admit but I understand completely why we couldn't go on. C'est la vie.
