NONE of us are Jehovah's Witlesses.  We are NOT proselytizers; we do NOT need the world to agree with us, though that would NOT be bad.  More than anything else, we want the world to RECOGNIZE us.

The sad part is that those who are too dedicated to their delusion will refuse to, because it pisses in the wind of their belief.

Chris B, i so hope your hearing aids work for you! The good news, you have a volume button; that seems to be a given. I don't understand how the volume can be preset by someone else.

"But I don't want to be a door-to-door salesman. I'm not a Jehovah's Witness, you know."

Reminded me of this Bizarro cartoon:

Man at his door, looking puzzled at the pamphlet two young men, in short-sleeved shirts and ties, had just given him. “This pamphlet is blank.” “We’re atheists.”

Thanks, Stephen, for the video; I'm starting to watch it now. Has it indeed become more difficult for street musicians and other entertainers, as well as pedlars? (Yes, Americans can sometimes learn to spell, wavy red underline be damned. :-)

I had my "one and done" Johnson & Johnson vaccine almost a week ago, thanks to a local pharmacy having a canceled appointment. (Lucky to get the one-dose vaccine, and lucky to get it before the pause!) One night of fever, a few days of fatigue and the arm being sore, nothing major.

Chris, I'm glad you're doing better with the hearing aids!

Ian my friend and neighbour has just had his second jab of the Oxford AstraZeneca with no problems. I was watching Dr John Campbell on YouTube and he mentions an Idea that those very small numbers of people who got a Thrombotic reaction to OAZ may have been mistakenly injected into a vein instead of the muscle. Something to research I think

Comment was by Chris B on April 16, 2021 at 3:43am

Thanks Ian! Sounds are still quite startling but interesting. I have lost the  higher pitch sounds so everything sounded dull, low rumbling. Now even a thing like opening a drawer makes over thirty surprising sounds!

Comment was by Ian Mason on April 16, 2021 at 3:41am

I was going to do some temping over the Summer but after a try-out I got turned down. It was evening shifts where things can go a lot faster and I'm used to nights where I can do things at my own speed. I work better that way.

DK has now put AstraZeneca on indefinite suspension which delays the whole program by two weeks. I'm now due for the first jab in early May. Things are opening up more as hospital admissions are low and stable but I'm going to be careful in case there's a new wave.

Comment was by Ian Mason on April 16, 2021 at 3:36am

I hope things go well, Chris. People tell me that they have to get used to hearing aids over time so you don't have to rush things.
