Who can get through a day of the 2016 presidential campaign and not think of this? Here's part of how my mom did it in the late 1930s and the 1940s. I didn't know what she had in mind when she raised us as if there was no such thing as boys' work or…Continue

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Comment was by Randall Smith on March 6, 2021 at 8:09am

Speaking of trips, I signed up to do a Road Scholar hiking adventure in the Alps, August 26 to Sept 7. Of course, it all depends on what the covid situation is at that time. But enrollments are happening, so hope is out there.

Ian, Safe journey and a wonderful adventure with your daughter's family.

Comment was by Ian Mason on March 5, 2021 at 11:29pm

I'm taking the chance and going off to see my daughter and her family for a couple of days. My oldest grandson has just had his 3rd birthday and I don't want to miss out. The town where I live has had 2 new cases in the last week (pop. 23,000) and the suburb where my daughter lives has had 5 (pop. 22,000) so the only real risk is while travelling. I'm going to pack myself in protective gear and sanitise everything.

The Danish government sold its vaccine production company to the Saudi royal family a couple of years ago at a very low price.

Politics should not be in our medical care.

Comment was by Stephen Brodie on March 5, 2021 at 10:32pm

As a supporter of the EU and one who voted to stay, I'm upset at the political bickering between the member states and the EU Commission over the rollout of the COVID Vaccines. One must always remember that the Commission is made up of politicians and member state-appointed functionaries.

Comment was by Mrs.B on March 5, 2021 at 7:40pm

Canada is now building a facility, but it won't be up & running until 2023!

Thanks to former Prime Minister Harper, our vaccine manufacturing places were scrapped.

Comment was by Joan Denoo on March 5, 2021 at 7:35pm

Are we not able to use Artificial Intelligence on such a complex problem as vaccine distribution?

I repeat, why are the vaccines not being produced in the US?

Comment was by Joan Denoo on March 5, 2021 at 7:34pm

Are there no leaders in this pandemic?

Who decides the distributions?

Why is the US not making & distributing the vaccines?

With all the evidence of poor leadership with this vaccine distribution, why is the world in such turmoil? Have we not become smart enough to avoid these snafus?

Do we not have enough smart voters to elect good leaders?

Perhaps we need a basic change of how our nation is to be governed. Would a civil service principle, in which employment is based on a competitive examination, work more effectively and efficiently?

And, Patricia, nice to share the "kwitchurrbitchin!" group with you.
