Speaking of an "ordinary" life not being a failure, I'm actually glad I'm not among the ranks of the rich and famous. Rich I'll take, but it's a good thing that the media couldn't care less what I ate for breakfast or who I slept with last night.
(OK, I wouldn't mind being known and respected in some niche, as long as I got to stay comfortably anonymous to the public at large.)

Stephen Brodie, that "De Afsluitdijk:" video blows me away. Obviously, I am not an engineer because I can see all the reasons such an endeavor is impossible. Winter storm surges, shifting sands, rocks, and foundations would just wash away the most thoroughly researched project. Like the "Man-Made Islands In Dubai," I see them melting into the ocean within a generation.
I bet you are glad I am not an engineer!
