Who can get through a day of the 2016 presidential campaign and not think of this? Here's part of how my mom did it in the late 1930s and the 1940s. I didn't know what she had in mind when she raised us as if there was no such thing as boys' work or…Continue

I haven't checked how the drought is, but we have had a lot of rain. I just don't know if it's been beneficial.
Looks like a dry summer for you, Patricia.
One year, we had over 3 meters....we could not see out any window, & the kids played on the roof. We had to hire people to make access out of the house.
We've hardly had any snow here in Indiana. Plus, the temperatures have remained relatively mild. In fact, they say the Great Lakes have not frozen over with only around 3% ice coverage, the lowest percentage ever recorded on this date. I'm glad President Biden is addressing global warming so aggressively.
Meteorologists in DK are no longer shy about saying 'climate change' and global warming' as the cause of more extreme and unusual conditions.
A very Happy Birthday Joan. Though the congratulations for the day be very belated the wish is evergreen. I wish you all the best in Health, Happiness and Love.
You are ten years younger than my Mum so according to my peoples way you are my Aunty, so accordingly, I must show respect to you I must call you Aunty.
Ian
That is very similar to how it was when I arrived here nigh on twenty years ago. When I first met my friends Vlad and Lucy (Ludmilla), Lucy said when she was a child the snow use to bank up to the eaves of the houses.
It was here that I learnt to do the Penguin shuffle so I didn't go A over T slipping on the ice. All the time I have been here I have only gone A over T twice,
But this winter we have been having what I call a Taswegian Winter, mainly over cast and cool (2 - 5 degrees +) only occasionally dropping below zero and then at night at that. had a flurry of snow early December but that quickly vanished, then no snow till about the 11th of this month but that soon disappeared about the 21st and now the temp has gone to plus ten after day temps dropped to minus 15 - 17 degrees. Feels more like Becha (Spring) not Zima (Winter).
But going by the forecasts looks like we will have more rain early February with just a possibility of some snow fall in this neck of the woods , but Kyiv will get by the looks a decent fall of Snow.
10 years ago we had about a week of snow every winter, and now it's news if there's a snow day.
Very little snow in Denmark so far this year, just constant cloud and rain. 10 years ago there was frost and snow from November to March. The experts say that extremes are going to be 'normal' from now on.
Unbelievable I know, & the little bit we did have is long gone.
