Yes,  Chris B,

https://www.shorpy.com/node/26035?mc_cid=9eb6b55c58&mc_eid=c4b5...

this is how WW II migrant worker camps looked in 1941; I was almost 5-years old. We were from WA state, some were from Arkansas "Arkies", others from Oklahoma "Okies" and from many other farming communities. Recruiters from Morrison Knudsen, a construction company hired to build army, navy, and air bases used for WW II, recruited men in farming segments of the country because young, strong men with many skills were exactly what the war effort needed. We were from the Palouse farm lands of Eastern WA state, there were families from Arkansas "Arkies" and Oklahoma "Okies" and from many other agriculture communities. We lived & moved the first year or so in a 12' trailer while Dad built military fields across the southern tier of the U.S. Then Dad was sent to Fairbanks to build air fields; Mom and I moved to Spokane and rented a room for one school year, then Mom and I moved into a lovely little home where I spent the rest of my elementary and secondary school years. Dad came home in 1945; I was at a school function the evening he came back and I had no idea he was on his way home. I looked out a school room door and saw a face that looked familiar. It was my father!!!! I was 9-years old.

Yeah, especially when we were virus free until late last summer. And all because of leaving the area, & bringing it back when returning.

We are distant from others enough, that we could have had free run of our city, no businesses closed, & gone about our daily lives if only nobody had gone out of town for any reason other than maybe medical!

B.C.’s rapid response paramedics deployed to Williams Lake as COVID-19 cases climb

BC Emergency Health Services has sent a Major Incident Rapid Response Team to the  lakecity.....

For only the second time since the start of the pandemic, BC Emergency Health Services has deployed the Major Incident Response Team (MIRRT) developed as part of its COVID-19 pandemic response efforts.

This time the specialized team is heading to Williams Lake where there are large levels of COVID-19 patients in multiple clusters in the region and an outbreak at the hospital responsible for treating them.

The primary role of the MIRRT is to assist in the inner-facility transfer of.............

Adding to "the list", I do the following: work on a jigsaw puzzle (1000 pieces), play piano (mostly jazz), listen to classical music on the radio (and play CDs and tapes), walk, walk, and walk some more, crack home-grown pecans, bake a pie or cookies, and, of course, read! I'm only on the computer for less than an hour and hardly watch any TV except in the evening. I have plenty to do to keep my occupied. Oh yes, I often "kid-sit" and play with my 3 young grandchildren. Whew!

I happened to retire and start a new romance a couple of months before the virus hit. Therefore I had plans with what to do with my time. A lot were stymied (concerts, art galleries, cinema) but as things eased in the Summer I got started. Learning French and bass guitar. Now the second lockdown has come I've still got things to work on and practice.

My ladyfriend has almost no experience of art, classical or jazz music, or cinema so I'm introducing her to a new world. We've managed a few symphony concerts when possible but otherwise using online sources or DVDs. It's nice to see someone experiencing some classics of cinema for the first time as well as music in genres new to her.

Yes, Joan Denoo vaccinating the whole world has to be a priority. There's no reason apart from racism to let them suffer. On top of that, we'd be doing ourselves a favour. Less developed countries can act as a resovoir for the virus which will them mutate and bounce back.

Yes, I often find other uses for things.
