Sounds like fun, Mrs. B! Except for the trout, of course..

Under-handed.

No, Joan, we were never that formal. We just went to lakes close to home, built a fire near the truck, went out on the ice, drilled a hole, & fished for trout. This was years ago, when we didn't care about the cold, & added rum to our coffee to help us not care.

Your ice fishing sounds like a delicious activity; don't know if I could handle the cold. Do you have an ice shack? What do you catch?

Well Joan, we have walked on water here......in January.......while ice fishing....hahahahaha......

I have a couple of blabbermouth kitties who speak in catinese, & I've had to learn to understand it.

In my opinion, lying is not foreign to religion; the religious tell lies and believe the lies told them without scrutiny. Imagine! Believing such things as virgin births, talking animals in human language, people rising from the dead, walking on water, answered prayer, and many, many more! Generation after generation! They pretend to know what is true and rename lies into statements of faith.

You know what I think of faith!

Oh, by the way, Dominic, my black lab, talks to me and it not in English, it is dog language. He is teaching me and is a good teacher.

Wrap around porches are very appealing.

Republicans have a different view of the role of government than Democrats. I live in a Rep household and rural community and they voted Trump in. I don't see them changing their views for this coming election. As I interpret the Rep, they see government as protecting and supporting business and look for profits. Dems see government as a process of protecting the weak from the strong who willingly lie and do what is necessary to make profits.

The First Great Depression was created by policy and practices and the Dems came into power and took back the reigns. Programs to assist small business, people, families, and farms restored that failed economy. Sadly, WW II fueled the recovery. I hope we can turn the economy around and not have a world war to finance it

This type 0f old farm home comes to mind when i think of farming those vast ranches. My cousin was a frequent visiter to Australia when he lived in New Zealand. He told wonderful stories of his life there. His home had a wrap-around porch, too.
