We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

I dont really give a damn what ppl beleive in! Atheism is no doctrine/belief to me. Only reason im here bcz its disgusting how ppl reject science bcz of ancient religions, especially in the ME!

Mansour, are you basically saying that you wouldn't care what people's religious beliefs were, provided that they were not anti-science or rejected scientific findings due to their religious beliefs? I used to be that way but then I realized that religious beliefs do more damage than just the anti-science attitude. They often lead to prejudice, against women, against gays, against minorities, against other religions (and by extension against other ethnic groups, etc.

Adriana, i'm anti-religious figures, but i'm not against religious people. It's important to distinguish between radicals and those who practice a religion! Most theists are against radicals even though radicals' views are from the heart of religion (theists are experts when it comes to blaming cultures/values/politics/history/and of course the "other" religion rather than blaming they're on religion). If I aim to make everyone an atheist, i'm no different than religion radicals. Thinking that all people can have one belief/disbelief is naive!

I'm not against religious people unless they try to impose their religion on others or unless they use their beliefs to feel superior to others. Of course I do not want homogeneity, that would be boring. But we can have different cultures without necessary religious beliefs, and have diversity that way. I do not think religion will one day end but I think it will shrink considerable and other cultural aspects will replace religious beliefs largely, at least in some spheres. It would be very hard for people to abandon religious beliefs completely because of our instinctive fear of death and our refusal to believe this life is all we have.

I don't aim to make everyone an atheist, but I aim to increase rationality and critical thinking in our world.

Well, radicals here in saudi use the majority rule to feel superiors over others (and those others are of their own faith)!

My country is a third world country with the most oil reserves! Religion is the least of our problems. Unfortunately our government uses the religion tool to *blind* Saudis.

Yes, I agree; very often religion is used by the powerful to dupe people or to pit people against each other.

If I aim to make everyone an atheist, i'm no different than religion radicals. Thinking that all people can have one belief/disbelief is naive!
