Funny you should post about this subject as I've just been reading about the Danites and Porter Rockwell. We look upon religious extremism as a modern phenomenon, but it doesn't take long when reading about the early LDS Church to show what real extremism is really about. The Mountain Meadow Massacre was just one of many acts of violence perpetrated by the Morman church. Thanks, Mrs.B.

Religions all have lousy histories, I don't care how peaceful they seem now.

Interesting read, I'd never heard of this.

I read about this several years ago, but its not well known.

that is the truth, Mrs B, it sure seems that they all have bloody hands, all of 'em.
I'd never heard if this, and had to read it twice, because i could not determine the Reason they did this... in part, because i am having a nightcap, lol.

None of them are blood free.

Interesting read.

Interesting how many 'Americans' were in battles- which continue today.

A thing I dislike hearing people (in the U.S) say about the "Old World" is 'they [those people] have been fighting'  for centuries.

What's the difference?  NONE - for the most part we are them.

American Exceptionalism can shove a paper cut into the history book to see how violent it is.

Humans are violent.

It's too bad humans aren't more like Bonobos than Chimpanzees.
