Laws preventing infecting others with HIV, laws preventing infecting CORONA-19
Is it a criminal offense to not tell a partner about having a confirmed diagnosis of STD?
Civilly and criminally, it is typically illegal to knowingly and recklessly transmit an STD. Some states have laws that require you to tell certain people if you are HIV-positive.
From the very beginning of the HIV-epidemic, states enacted laws specifically targeting HIV-positive individuals to penalize people who know their status and knowingly expose others to the virus.
At least 33 states in the U.S. have laws on the books that criminalize various behaviors within the HIV-positive population, with 25 of those states criminalizing actions that carry a low or minor risk of transmitting the virus.
More than 24 states have laws enforcing the disclosure of a (known) positive HIV status to all sexual partners.

If laws criminalizing behaviors that carry a low or minor risk of transmitting HIV, why do we not have regulations against knowingly infecting COVID-19?

I can't help but agree with you on this subject Joan, but I also imagine it would be very hard to enforce but not impossible.
