i do not know what that exactly means, does it cost money to re-validate it? is that the problem?

I'm getting that again lately too, but I get onto the site from the search engine now, instead of clicking on the email notice. It is however getting damned annoying. I also get the not secure notice up top but it doesn't prevent my doing anything.

yes, good point, but, you ARE comfortable here and know the place. However, i can imagine it does deter newbies.
or those who have been gone a while or who are super worried about computer virus, etc.

I suspect that this is the same problem I saw on Atheist Nexus before it was taken down. It may be caused by the fact that Ning doesn't secure its sites with the https protocol, but the less secure http. It's doubtful that any petition or action aimed at Ning will cause them to take on the effort necessary to more thoroughly secure Atheist Universe.
Just between you, me, and the fence post, I think they're cheap bastards.
