Obviously, you are not a happy person if you are an atheist and have to write about it on a cardboard box stuck in the back of your car. For the sake of anything you love, why don't you buy a Darwin fish or some type of catchy bumper sticker instead of putting some junk like that in the parking lot of a university? How embarrassing.
Do others concur?

No, I don't agree. People like to personalize their cars in many different ways, why do they need to buy a pre-made sticker? Plus, we have no idea why the sign is there. It could be in response to something that happened to the car owner, she/he may be sending a message to someone else this way. Maybe something happened to that person in the parking lot.
And in any case, why care about a piece of cardboard in a car? It's not like the person is littering. If a person carries a cardboard box full of socks in the back seat of their cars, would you suggest they should not park at the university's parking lot?
Calling that "embarrassing" seems like an exaggeration to me.
Looks like someone had some craft skills, I notice double sided tape on each corner holding it up. I don't know if it's an embarrassment, or a personal message to someone like Adriana noted.
Of course she got the spelling write, she's an atheist! LOL.
Maybe what's needed is a bumper sticker that says "Atheists don't have a god damned care in the world".
I like that! Michel could make one for our store :-)
If you are so desperate to say that "you are happy" - typically you are trying too hard and in reality, are not happy.
Well, I think the idea is that the religious typically view atheists as a sad, sour, killjoy crowd, sinners that know they are going to hell and won't open their heart to the infinite joy of Jeebus' love. Atheists are therefore unhappy, whether they know it or not and it CAN'T be otherwise.
Perhaps that's what the person felt needed to be rectified.
I don't usually judge people. I just thought it was so embarrassing and made other fellow atheists seem so desperate and petty. Oh well, it is their right to have the cardboard box sign obviously but I just think it makes the rest of us look bad.
1.) What makes you think that the sign was made out of desperation rather than, say, enthusiasm?
2.) "Typically" doesn't mean "invariably"; don't make judgements.
3.) Don't make up rules, either. There's no serious basis for your "trying too hard" rule.
