We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

"Each of the most religious countries is relatively poor, with a per-capita GDP below $5,000. This reflects the strong relationship between a country's socioeconomic status and the religiosity of its residents. In the world's poorest countries -- those with average per-capita incomes of $2,000 or lower -- the median proportion who say religion is important in their daily lives is 95%. In contrast, the median for the richest countries -- those with average per-capita incomes higher than $25,000 -- is 47%.

Most high-income countries are further down the religiosity spectrum. In 10 countries, no more than 34% of residents say religion is an important part of their daily lives. Six of those are developed countries in Europe and Asia with per-capita incomes greater than $25,000.

Yes, & the religions want to make sure it stays that way, with keeping the poorest people ignorant. The only education seems to be the religious ones, if at all.

Ain't that the truth. in Pakistan and Bangladesh they shoot little girls for going to school. But they open more and more Madrasa's which teach the Koran and nothing else. That way they keep people ignorant and tied to the religious life. To Hell with that.

.............And if that ain't brainwashing.............

Religion takes care of itself, the rest live on their handouts.

........which are begged for from the sheeple............

It's worse than that, Neal:

Christianity alters your identity to insure the survival of ITSELF.

Visible evidence explains the behavior of political gangs and criminal gangs.

Where is the evidence that explains the behavior of religious gangs?

The thing has expired. And after expiry date, most of the stuffs become toxic. But many happy sheeple are still enjoying them. Ignorance only?

Agreed Alexis, it will be a long time yet before the religious realise that it has past its sell by date.

Thanks a lot for "sheeple". I got it from you, and browsing about it gave me "frenemy". These are golden concepts for me and I will keep picking up similar portementaux. Don't miss an opportunity to use it when you have one.
