Bumper sticker philosophy
Jesus Forgives You. That was the bumper sticker on the car in front of me. It got me thinking.
What do I need Forgiving for?
The religion or church makes the rules, and some fantasy being forgives you for breaking them.
And we are all equal so if we commit adultery it is the same as shoplifting or gossiping or being a serial killer. Sin and all you have to do is ask for forgiveness and you get it. Cool beans right?
You follow an abitrary and contradictory set of rules someone else made, break them because you can, get forgiven and get out of hell free. NO Personal Responsiblity for your own actions!
I perfer to take personal responsiblity and I don't need to grovel to be forgiven by fantasy personas.

I was a little confused about sins and how easy one can be forgiven while still being part of a religion and it helped me ask more questions and finally realize it is all a lie. Anyway, personal responsibility is something I have always been in support of, no matter what I did or did not believe. It takes a lot of strenght to acknowledge your own mistakes and do something about it and really try to not do the same mistake twice. With religion, you can live your whole life without a care and in the end repent and it's all squared.

Yeah. Your right on what you said, and don't worry about the typos and misspellings. When you read my replies and posts you will think I have the spelling capability of a 10 year old. LOL.
One of the worst bumper stickers I've seen on cars are the ones that say something like "Don't be fooled. My real treasure is in Heaven." I mean come one. You have got to be kidding me. These bumper stickers are on cars that look like they have been through WW II or sometimes even worse. No I am not fooled, and if someone is going to be fooled by your car being your treasure then they really need to see a psychologist.
Other ones like "Jesus saves" and "God can see what your doing" just make me laugh. If Jesus saves then why the hell am I paying $35 on a 10 gallon tank of gas, and I use regular! God sees what I am doing? Damn! That must be some top notch HBO they are watching up there in heaven. Sometimes Skin-a-max. he he.
My wife and I went up to PA this past weekend and didn't see one, NOT ONE! Jesus fish sticker. I only saw one car with two God stickers but that's it. When coming back to the south, North Carolina, it wasn't until we hit mid-Virgina that the fish stickers and others really started to show up. I wish my wife would let us move to the north. I tried to get us to move to Boston or a town right outside of it but that was a no go. Darn!

What's even more mind-boggling, is, christians must be forgiven for a sin that is present in their soul, from birth!! no matter how they behave, no matter how morally they conduct themselves, they still have "original sin" in their soul, and need that one removed by having water put onto your body by a human being who wears special black dresses, at the low cost of only $35 and up, (a "donation") Satan can be removed from the baby.
seems a bargain.
