A ridiculous section of the law, and as Rowan said people have to become immune to some some verbal offence and the only way to learn to brush aside verbal offence is be exposed to it as it also teaches you when the verbal offence is going over the limit and becomes something else.

Religious groups just love section 5 it allows them to put pressure on the police to charge people who criticise believers who might take offence
