Tearing upthe new testament, a very nasty book is considered an act of racism.  Here in the west showing the same reverence of the Koran usually dosen't get death threats, it get's us called racist bigots. One writer, Michel, Houlellebecq, got accused of inciting racial hatred for calling the Koran "A book with a single author which is, at best, a mediocre literary work". Had to go to court to defend hismelf over racial hatred charge.
