Birthdays

Birthdays Today

Birthdays Tomorrow

I just had another "miracle" thanks to science. For the last couple weeks I have been really dizzy when waking up and as I lie down for sleep at nite. One morning I fell down in the kitchen. I couldnt understand why all of a sudden this was plaguing me. (sp)  I knew that your ability to stay upright was somewhere in your ears. I got in to see a Ear-nose-throat dr yesterday. I had to lie down on a table and the nurse had me turn my head far right, no problems, then she turned my head far left, I felt the table and room spinning around. My wife was there and looking in my eyes. I guess my eyeballs were jumping up and down, goin crazy. The tech knew right away what my problem was. Called BENIGN PAROXYSMAL POSITIONAL VERTIGO.  Everyone has the microscopic crystals in the inner ear that should be atop tiny hairs, when you move they send signals to the brain that in turn keeps you in balance. Well, somehow some of my crystals went into the semicircular canals. Not a good thing. Basically what she did was turn my head both ways a few times, and the vertigo was GONE!!  I just have to keep my head vertical for 2 days, sleep on my right side 2 nites, 3rd nite switch to left, and 99% chance it wont come back. The moving of my head shook the crystals back to where they belonged. No prayer needed, again. Man I love what science can do.

Heh!

Just imagine what a poor fellow with the same condition, a few hundred years back, would have thought: a personal punishment?

Doctors at the time would have prescribed a good session of bloodletting.

Great news! Another ailment that prayer has not cured :-)

I had a similar episode (but never fell a few months ago and it disappeared by itself. It was positional. I instinctively changed my sleeping position and it disappeared.

GREAT NEWS - TC!!!  Had vertigo many years ago and it drove me nuts.  It just wouldn't go away on it's own so I had to see a specialist.   One and only time I had it...

I'm glad some kind of light therapy cured it so quickly...

I'm seing an  ENR doctor at the moment because I have vertigo problems but I'm still in the tests stage, will let you know what happens...
