I think some preachers. the majority, do not know or haven't studied the bible in depth. They sell this falsehood to keep their followers in check.

It's like you are reading my mind. My next article in this series will deal with preachers encouraging their followers to become cafeteria Christians; picking and choosing the parts of the Bible they like and ignoring the rest.
