Good point.

I think he's wrong though, being christian does not automatically make you a good person,

I'm pretty sure he would admit that is a generalization, and that there are certainly Christians out there who are bad people, but it is refreshing to see an atheist give Christians the benefit of the doubt. What he was really saying about Christians being good was that he wasn't afraid of Christian's ordering his death for something he said on TV and that trying to save someone from hell and give them eternal life could be viewed as an act of kindness, even if it is a load of dingos kidneys.

Ahh, still not working for me. I've never told someone to shut up about their beliefs, I just don't listen. I think he's wrong though, being christian does not automatically make you a good person, and some should be told to shut up or stop what they're doing. When it comes to intolerance, fuck'm.

But again, theists that I know do not preach to me. They are good people, they have faith but don't follow the bible literally.

He doesn't understand why some atheists would just tell them to shut up.

Thanks now I get it.

But I do understand why one wouldn't shut up. For one, I'll voice my concern when someone tries to sell homeopathic medicine. It's the same thing.

Actually he is saying that he doesn't have a problem with Christian proselytizing because he sees it, from their point of view, as an act of compassion. How much do you have to hate someone to NOT try to save them from hell? He doesn't understand why some atheists would just tell them to shut up. Also, he has stated that they didn't do shows on Islam because they have families.

I do, he's saying as an atheist, don't hide your thoughts, speak up.

Not sure I get his point here...
