We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

Dogma - I want to give some views on dogma. What do you think? Dogma is a major factor that leads to a theology of separation. We all have access to a Natural Moral Code predating any man-made religious beliefs. However, we interpret universal moral codes the way we experience life. Universal moral codes are interpreted by a human nature that includes solipsism. Religions are man-made interpretation of nature-made universal moral codes based on their experience of Nature and human nature. Religions develop dogmas, doctrines, and fiats to conceptualize and compartmentalize their  interpreted beliefs. Sometimes dogmas conform to Nature but often they don't. Religions have their dogma, doctrine, fiats, and precepts. Each religion teaches a triumphalism that makes their authoritative diktats superior to all others.

Dogma can lock religions into defending stupidity. Religions have a pontification of their dogmatic opinions being the only way. I put forth that religions often do a better job of worshipping their dogma than their God. Each religion demands follower subservience, submissiveness, and obedience to stultified dogmas. Dogmatic dictums say we have the penultimate truth. Dogmatic proclamations of having knowledge of truth can become dogmatism that quickly morphs into a moralism of do’s and don’ts. An infestation of dogma cripples the ability for individuals to personally experience truth. Dogmatic truths are repeated over and over again because they need to be repetitive! According to J. Krishnamurati, “the constant assertion of belief is an indication of fear.” (20th Cent) I appreciate Harris saying, "it takes only one generation for a good thing to become a bad, for an inference about experience to become dogma. Dogma is the enemy of truth and enemy of free thought. Dogma says “Do not think?” Be less than a person. The ideas enshrined in dogma may include good and wise ideas, but dogma is  bad itself  because it is  accepted as good  without examination." (1969)

Jiddu Krishnamuratie, was in, effect, a genius of humanitarianism.  I keep a data base of all of his

teachings.  Reason and sanity are the most pure forms of love and caring...not false gods....surprised anyone...the sycophant's Lie, for money mostly...they return only death threats, an artificial sense of guilt, and then they want more.  All religion must be banned from the planet if we are to survive.  Religion aligns itself with gub'mint and corporations to maintain a strangle hold over humanity.  In the words of Mikhail Bakunin, "I am not myself free or human until or unless I recognize the freedom and humanity of all my fellowmen... I am truly free only when all human beings, men and women, are equally free. The freedom of other men, far from negating or limiting my freedom, is, on the contrary, its necessary premise and confirmation."  Bakunin was an anarchist, but so was Thomas Jefferson!  As he stated, and I quote, "He who governs least, governs best."  Anarchy is portrayed by dictators as Chaos and confusion.  Actually, true Anarchy is just what the name literally means, "Order Without Government".  Civilization and Government are mutually Exclusive.  So forget the phrase that has been pounded into you since birth (talk about brainwashing), forget the phrase "Law and Order", it should read, and be said as "Order"

Thanks for your time....Joey

Most of us here already know that.

If you cannot rationally discuss a belief, more than likely that belief is false. Dogma is the shield that defends stupidity.

When ideas become Dogmas and therefore immutable that's when the trouble begins. Always question dogmas.
