Dawkins was on Fareed Zakaria's GPS program and scolded all GOP candidates for not believing in a scientifically established fact: evolution. When Zakaria referred to evolution as a "theory," Dawkins advised against use of that word since the creationist crowd has seized on "theory" as a proposition, not yet proved. He does not yield from his position, that evolution is fact. Dawkins has also eschewed mention of the fossil record in arguments for evolution, probably aware some religious gullibles claim God put fossils in the earth "to fool the Darwinists." Instead, he points to the record of DNA, which he rightfully claims a much more potent argument for Darwinism. "If Darwin were alive today [to see our findings] he'd be pleased, I think." OK, so it was a book appearance. I for one want to read his new book. I've only read The God Delusion.
Zakaria did not challenge Dawkins too vigorously, and Dawkins was the perfect gentleman. Atheists "angry." Ha!
