Canada: Muslim Posters In Subways, Gideons in the Schools and Creeping Albertan Theocrats

Things have been busy over at my blog.  Here's a roundup of my most recent posts.

Toronto transit authorities refuse to take down Muslim ad

Well, it's the war of the subway signs again, this time in Toronto. Well it's big news for the Toronto Sun anyway.

Extra Security as Ontario School District Votes Whether to Allow Di...

The Bluewater District School Board in southern Ontario apparently feels so threatened by extreme Christians that they are requesting extra security for tonight's vote on whether to allow the handing out of free Bibles to school children by the Gideons.

The Wild Rose of Alberta (Even Creepier Creeping Theocrats?)

Until yesterday I'll admit that I never even heard of the Alberta (the Texas of Canada) Wildrose Party.  But I caught a CBC news report about how the party is actually leading in the polls for the April 23rd general election.  In fact, they're well on their way to a majority.  The Conservative party has had an uninterrupted rule over the province for over four decades.

They've got some pretty scary candidates.  Make the current government look more pro-science and less creepy religious.

Thanks for the comment!  I bet they would feel differently if it were the Muslims handing out Korans, the Hari Krishna handing out books or the Scientologists.

Thanks for the updates. Cracking me up that people are upset that bibles can't be handed out at school.
