We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.

I used to remember the book of Daniel well, and it was historically inaccurate and probably written after then so-called Prophecies happened because it follows history up until a certain point, then it gets it all wrong. The problem with disproving Judaism is there are so-many books in the hebrew Bible. The Torah we have today is probably not the original from Mount Sinai because it contains multiple counts of the same events that contradict each other(or at least when extreme mental gymnastics are out of the picture). Even if it isnt't from mount Sinai, what is the bigger Picture. The hebrew bible(from what I hear) says that Jews will be an eternal, although hated nation that will remain small, which seems to be historically proven, but i dont have all of the facts. Is anyone familiar with biblical history as it has  to do with Judiasm, because i am tired of being scared about God.

Is it possible to get out of Abrahamic religious indroctinication one was raised with?

I seriously doubt it.

Does God Command Evil Acts in the Bible?

August 3, 2017

By John Harden

This is a question that participants of The Great Adventure Bible studies frequently ask us, and it’s a tough one to answer. We know that God is all good and all loving. In fact, “God is love” (1 John 4:8). And yet, in the Old Testament, we find various scenes in which God’s people are called to “destroy” other nations. Here’s one example:

“When the LORD your God brings you into the land which you are entering to take possession of it, and clears away many nations before you … and you defeat them; then you must utterly destroy them; you shall make no covenant with them, and show no mercy to them” (Deuteronomy 7:1-2)

Hi, i just pop in and out, and not sure what your level of critical thinking is, i see you self-describe to a religion that says we are born again and again,(?)  of which there is absolutely zero evidence to support that fantastical claim.  The more fantastic the claim? = the more fantastic the evidence we should require to believe it.
For example, if you claim you have a pet dog? I will take you at your word on THAT claim, as that is NOT a fantastic claim, it is well within a reasonable assumption to believe that you do have a pet dog.

HOwever, if you claim your pet dog can disappear and reappear as a bird? I will need an amazing amount of empirical evidence to be able to believe THAT claim, as THAT IS a fantastic claim to make and it breaks all laws of science and of nature.

but, i just popped in, and your thread went by

and this line from your post above jumped out at me:
"The problem with disproving Judaism is there are so-many books in the hebrew Bible."  YOU do not have to "disprove" Anyyyything at all.  The burden of "proof" always lies with those Making The Claim, not with those questioning the claim.

I can claim there are pink unicorns all over the world.   The burden to prove THAT? lies with ME< the person MAKING the claim, ------------   not with you--> the person having trouble believing it.

If you meet someone who claims there are pink unicorns, but you do not believe her? YOU do not have to "disprove" her claim, no no no.  SHE is the one making the claim, and thus, the burden of proof falls to HER, not to YOU.
SEE?
Similarly, if you read a fantastical book that offers up crazy stories that break all laws of nature (for example, some dude walks up to a river and asks the river to split in half so that they can walk through it)-----if YOU find these stories in the book too hard to believe and if you are given zero empirical evidence to support the crazy stories? you do NOT have to believe the stories.
It is up to THEM to prove the crazy story, not up to you to prove it is false.
SEE?
long story short:
Feel absolutely free to NOT believe anything that makes no sense to you, and breaks all laws of science and nature, UNTIL you have been presented with replicable, empirical evidence to support the other person's claim.

Speaking of which, why do you fear gods if you do not believe in gods?

Don't be afraid of what's called "God"

What do you think the word "God" means"

From there we can discuss different things.

More importantly look at anthopoligy - deep history often called pre-history.

May I suggest throwing away what ever bible you are reading.

What is it the King James, The Catholic, The  Mormon, The  Jehovaha?

If curious you will look at phylosophy and the interesting thing about of the books that in Abrihamic time were coalated in about 504 ACE for political reasons for the empire.

If interested look at the books that were left out of common bibles.
