Research study examining community involvement and other lived experiences among atheist individuals

Hi there! My name is Elizabeth and my research team is currently conducting a study looking at the experiences of atheist individuals. Any support is appreciated!

You are invited to participate in a research study examining community involvement and other lived experiences among atheist individuals.

We are using the term “atheist” broadly to capture people who are nonbelievers – if you identify as secular humanist, agnostic, or with another nonbelieving identity (i.e., freethinker, skeptic) you may still participate if you like. You will have an option to further specify nuances in your nonbelieving identity later in the survey.

You qualify to take part in this research study if you are:

(1) 18 years old or over

(2) Identify as atheist (i.e., a nonbeliever)

(3) Live in the United States

If you have any questions about taking part in this research study, you should contact Melanie Brewster by phone (212-678-7441) or email (melanie.brewster@tc.edu). This study has been approved by the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at Teachers College, Columbia University (Protocol #16-400).

Hi Elizabeth,

Curious about your study. Do you think LGBTQ people may have a proclivity for being agnostic, or atheist? If so why?

That seems to be a query about your dissertation.

If it is what do you thing about others who just don't believe in heaven, or hell?

Is there a link to the study?

I've read everything here and didn't see a clickable link.
