That’s what a sociologist told me after I became politically active. How does government do that? Borrowing from Robert Burns, “Let me count the ways.”Religion is one way, and religion makes other ways possible.A school teacher long ago said the government does for us what we cannot do for ourselves, stuff like negotiating for fire and police protection, trash collection, and much more. While politically active, I found government doing TO us what we would not do TO ourselves, stuff like raising…See More

A chat with a friend who visits here. There was little activity then but by searching the discussions I found there had been much activity in the past.
Re the above "Tradition at Birth" question. At birth mine was none. Partway through first grade my dad put me into a Catholic school, and saying my tradition want to hell understates it by ten raised to the millionth power. They indoctrinated me so well that quitting required some trauma.

Yes i did say that and its true. Because it focuses on the study of nature. again and again we are told in my religion to look around and discover, travel, gain knowledge, have good physical strength.. in my religion No one says that you have to worship God.You just have to believe that he exists.. I cant give more details because of the rules of this page. But its your choice what you want to do in life no one can make you believe or make you follow what is uncomfortable to you.
