This morning I was awaken by a call asking if I was a Syrian citizen living in the U.S. I said "no." In broken english he said my name and address - is this you?. "Yes," I said and I told him I can't understand him. He said he's sending me a card.. of some kind.

I can't wait to see what it says and wonder how I got on his call list.

I spent 4 hours on internet chat with AT&T trying to figure out why my internet connection is slow and am going to have to call a technician out. It's running 1/3 the speed it should. I wonder if the rain might be causing the problem, or if the modem is bad.

I went to the Opthamologist today. My eyeglasses are scratched up and are difficult to see through. My prescription changed. After the exam, while waiting my turn to pick out a new pair of glasses a kid about four years old - probably in kindergarden wearing new glasses with thick lenses making his eyes look giant looked up at me with a big smile on his face. I wonder if that was the first pair of glasses he ever had.

When I was a kid I went through Indian Guides and Cub Scouts. We moved around the time I should join Boy scouts and was disturbed about the god covenant part of it. I ended up dropping out.

I just received the following email from a neighbor.

I'd like to help this kid go to to camp but can't support the god portion of the boy scout pledge.

The girl scouts don't have that in there pledge.
