Chris said… Probably the main reason California is so liberal is because of the influx of foreigners because of the gold rush. That and it has a lot of international shipping ports. Being around diversity must make one more open minded and liberal. I've been trying to understand the world view of conservatives for a long time and found some good web sites about it in the past year. I don't like what I read about them.

Celestial Teapot said… Well else from the politics, Japan is a complete new world from any countries I ever lived it.
Special culture ,civilization ,etc... living in Arabic,Middle east or even some European countries, will get very dull and repetitive life.

I'd give a kidney to live in somewhere as cultural, secular ,free and interesting as Japan.
