Religion? What's the harm? - Graphic Content

This photo dated December 6, shows Tarana Akbari crying near dead and injured people after a suicide bomber targetted Shiite worshippers during a religious ceremony outside the Abul Fazel shrine in Kabul where Shia Muslims were marking the Day of Ashura. Agence France-Presse photographer Massoud Hossaini won the agency's first Pulitzer Prize for the picture on April 16, 2012 in the breaking news photography category "for his heartbreaking image of a girl crying in fear after a suicide bomber's attack at a crowded shrine in Kabul," the committee announced.

I cannot understand suicide bombers; religion has such a strong hold on them.  Like Davy, I hope photographs like these, heartbreaking as it is, will show other people to what extreme religion can lead.

Images like this, among many other things, are why I'm such a militant anti-theist. Much more effort must be made to educate the world's populace and rid the planet of the foul disease that is religion.

@Davy - I agree, the bomber didn't give a shit about what he did to others. He only cared about how his god would look at him. Pictures like that don't touch mad men. But it shines light on what needs to be done for those who actually care about what happens to others.

The photographer had a big courage that made him able to capture this pictures in this difficult situation!

But the thing is that pictures like this do not disturb the fanatics one iota! But hopefully though it might begin to get the the moderates and the general public to start stirring to ostracise the fanatics of their faith and start to let people know just who they are. But I know that is just wishful thinking in part.
