@Marianne - Not all religious people are struck with imbecility. It's just that they can handle very large disconnects between reality and their beliefs. They usually get the difference between facts and bullshit in everyday life, they appreciate what works as opposed to what doesn't and can think their way around what modern life throws at them. They just don't mind about fundamental stuff being wrapped up in cotton candy - it's simpler like that.
