MARYAM NAMAZIE: Why I had to face down the bullies trying to silenc...

This week marked the first anniversary of the Charlie Hebdo massacre in Paris.

The atrocity was a brutal attack not just on human life but also on the principle of free speech, one of the pillars of human civilisation. In the aftermath of the killings, people across the world united to express their support for that essential liberty.

Yet today, freedom of speech in British universities is under heavier assault than ever before.

Mosques oppose madrassa registration

An organisation of mosques says it "unequivocally" rejects government proposals to require madrassas in England to be registered and inspected.

The Northern Council of Mosques, representing 400 mosques, says this "encroaches" on religious freedom.

The ''culture'' is no excuse for rape at any time under any circumstances! When you move to a different country, you bloody well learn that culture & abide by its laws!!!!

Oh yes, let's ''just pray'' all day long!!!! It would accomplish soooooooooo much, & make things aaaaaaaaalllllll better!!!!

Time for the Church to come clean on the ‘Just Pray’ controversy

With a considerable media firestorm the Church launched a crafty piece of marketing for their 'Just Pray' campaign – centred on the accusation that their Lord's Prayer advert had been "banned" because it was "offensive". One week on, new facts raise significant questions about their claims.

Church of England attendance plunges to record low

Sunday attendance slumps by 22,000 to 765,000 as older worshippers die and Archbishop of Canterbury warns of struggle in ‘anti-Christian culture’

Overall average attendances at Sunday services across England fell by 22,000 to 764,700 in 2014 - a fall of seven per cent in just five years.

The proportion of the population attending Sunday services now is only around one third of that in the early 1960s.

But they still want to stay the established church. Bloody nerve.

I think the moment we turn a blind eye to these crimes committed against woman because of cultural sensitivity we are lost. Its taken a hell of a long time for us to have reached this level of equality for Woman(still more to be done) I'm dammed if I'm going to retreat from that level because some peoples God gives them permission to treat woman like sexual slaves.

...sexual assault by young men have tapped into society's deepest fears.

Mrs. B, war is indeed HELL.

It's a deep fear of young men who may die at any moment, as they do in war, that they won't have enough time to seduce the women they see.

The old men whose blunders or greed lead to war don't care.
