If you don't have onions, it ain't a hotdog.

Comment by Stephen on August 29, 2016 at 11:38pm

I made myself some Hotdogs tonight with all the trimmings, Fried onions, ketchup and American mustard. And to wash it down a cup of strong Tea (two bags) in a big mug. Oh yes I nearly forgot a pickle gherkin.

But its funny how we all have our different tastes even on universal dishes like fish n chips.

This is beginning to sound like a boozy group nor Cuisine ha ha

No way I'm spending money on expensive booze to use in batter, when we can't drink the stuff with our meds. I know it cooks off, but the expense is just not worth it for cooking.

Brown ail - beer batter is good too.

I suggest trying the vodka batter - perhaps ontop of beer batter, seltzer water, or what whatever else you use.

Don't spend time with this: http://www.insearchofheston.com/2013/11/in-search-of-perfection-hes...

Fish with vodka batter, and chips with duck fat is the best - in my humble opinion for fish and chips.

Good balsamic vinegar tops the fish off.  I'm enjoy sweet chili sauce on the chips.
