Wonder is Southern Ireland is akin to the South in the U.S.
I heard that Sourthern Germans speak with what may be called a drawl.
Donno much - interesting though.
Entering the modern century is tough.
Of course, it's a good thing that the law has changed, but it's a bad thing that it took a vote from the UK parliament and not the Northern Ireland Assembly
Wow!
Press Release: ‘This Changes Everything’ – MPs vote to extend abortion to Northern Ireland
THE NC10 AMENDMENT PASSED BY 332 VOTES TO 99
MPs have voted resoundingly to extend both same-sex marriage and access to abortion to Northern Ireland, finally bringing the region into line with the rest of the UK.
Kerry Abel, Chair Abortion Rights said:
‘From one campaign to another we send our congratulations to the campaigners in Northern Ireland and beyond. This a victory for human rights, the women of Northern Ireland and a triumph for pro-choice groups, activists, and a fantastic achievement by Stella Creasy MP.’
‘This takes changes everything! Now we can get on with making the case for full decriminalisation of abortion across England, Scotland and Wales. It’s our job to make sure no woman is left behind.’
The UK Government is now obligated to bring forward secondary legislation to decriminalise abortion in Northern Ireland and to legalise abortion provision laid out in the CEDAW
And here is the full list of 332 MPs who voted for the Stella Creasy amendment on liberalising the abortion law in Northern Ireland.https://commonsvotes.digiminster.com/Divisions/Details/700?byMember...
