Interesting Map of European Languages

The majority of European nations speak a language belonging to the following language families:

  • Slavic
  • Germanic
  • Romance
  • Uralic

The languages are barely intelligible even inside those families, and absolutely not understandable between the families.

Even though I've seen this changing of the guard type display for many decades the belligerent nature of the show has changed the Allahu Akbar shouts on the Pakistani side and the Hindu equivalent on the Indian side has made it awful to watch.

I don't remember very much.

And of course, Emperor Hadrian was such a fascinating person one of the Emperor's we know so much about

Comment by Mrs.B on May 23, 2020 at 4:11am

I vaguely recall hearing something in school about Hadrian's too.

Comment by Stephen on May 23, 2020 at 4:08am

It doesn't get the same press as Hadrian's Wall mainly because there's so little still extent. Hadrian's Wall was built primarily of stone whereas the Antonine Wall was mostly turf and wood.

Comment by Mrs.B on May 23, 2020 at 3:55am

I've seen a couple of tv programs about Hadrian's but have not heard of the other one.
