It makes total sense that, as people start eating less meat (not really turning vegetarian nor vegan, but eating a lot more meatless dishes), restaurants would adapt and that would bring a boon to all of us veggie-eaters as well. Good news for the…Continue

Comment by Neal on Monday I go back and forth from vegetarian to vegan. Last year took 6 months off any type of animal products, (might have used honey once or twice), and felt great. The only thing I missed was cream in my coffee. Everything else wasn't that hard. Found a almond cream that was palatable, but had to make it every three days.
I think there's only 2 vegetarians who comment here, (besides you). The other vegans on the site are not that active, but are watching. =)
Comment by Jess M on Saturday Looking forward to connecting with some of you and joining in some conversations!
Anyone ever see this conversation between Peter Singer and Richard Dawkins? I really love it!

Peter Singer's book, Animal Liberation, which I read when I was 16, transformed my whole way of thinking when it came to how I perceived animals. It also brought into my awareness the profound effect-oftentimes in the form of suffering, that we impose upon other sentient creatures. After reading it I became vegan.
Over the years I found myself drifting into vegetarianism for a number of reasons. A few months ago I went back to being a vegan and I am so glad I did!
Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself. :)

Comment by Adriana on March 5, 2013 at 5:26pm That looks delicious but there is nothing wrong with bread, especially if multigrain. But for those counting calories it may help not including bread.

This stack brings ingredients back to the essentials- balsamic vinegar, mint, vegetables. Do you know what's not essential? Bread. Get the recipe.

Comment by Davy on February 23, 2013 at 4:24pm Not only that the vegetarians here depending on their income source are more restricted in the vegetables that are available to them. The vegetarians that are on low incomes are restricted to what they can grow them selves and preserve for winter.
Just going on what most people that I know that live in the villages here grow potatoes, cucumber, tomatoes, bell peppers, eggplant, cabbage, beetroot, peas and beans, along with berries such as black, red, white currants, raspberries, strawberries, fruits such as apricot, pears, apples, plums.
When they dry fruits they are smoked dried going on the smell of the dried fruit.
