Stephen, Sagan authored an interesting story of Homo Sapiens’ many attempts to comfort ourselves, and died before he realized that the Big Bang was simply another such attempt.

Astronauts escape malfunctioning Soyuz rocket

A US astronaut and a Russian cosmonaut were forced to make an emergency landing after their Russian Soyuz rocket malfunctioned en route to the International Space Station (ISS).
Shortly after taking off from Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan, Nick Hague and Alexey Ovchinin reported a problem with the rocket's booster.
The men were forced into a "ballistic descent", with their capsule landing a few hundred miles north of Baikonur.
They have been picked up by rescuers.
"The search and recovery teams have reached the Soyuz spacecraft landing site and report that the two crew members... are in good condition and are out of the capsule," US space agency Nasa said.
Russia said it was suspending any further manned flights, and an investigation into what went wrong had begun.

The USA underestimated the Japanese before they destroyed much of America's Pacific fleet at Pearl Harbor. Their Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto warned of America's ability to recover.

Will the USA regain the lead again?

The Japanese space agency (JAXA) has landed two small robots on the surface of an asteroid, making history as the first mobile rovers ever to have done so.

65% of your body is made of oxygen (by mass). All oxygen in our Solar System comes from exploding stars! 50% of the calcium & roughly 40% of the iron also come from these explosions, the rest is supplied by explosions of smaller, white dwarf stars! Source:
