This, from Atheist Alliance International:
Dear AAI Members and Supporters
Alexander Aan, the Indonesian atheist who was attacked and arrested after posting 'God does not exist' on Facebook, has been sentenced to two years and six months jail for blasphemy.
This is a disgraceful outcome, albeit not unexpected given the archaic Indonesian criminal code. Atheist Alliance International has condemned the sentence in a media release issued today.
I encourage you to write to the Indonesian authorities to condemn Alex's jail sentence and encourage repeal of Indonesia's blasphemy laws.
Further, Atheist Alliance International is collating messages of support for Alex, which we hope to send to him through our Indonesian contacts. If you would like to contribute please email your message of support to info@atheistalliance.org with "Message for Alex" in the subject line.
Thank you for your support.

"Archaic" is a polite descriptor. In the case of Indonesian law, where proclaiming the nonexistence of an invisible entity is a criminal act, we're talking primitive, shamanic, retrograde justice.
Like William Gibson said, "The future is already here, it's just not widely distributed yet." Well, these people need to put on top of the list. As reason will not work on them, we need to use quantity: they need to be flooded with voices, opinions and ideas that put them to shame.
