Scrap upfront NHS charges for migrants says BMA

Britain’s doctors have urged ministers to scrap controversial rules that force migrants to pay upfront before they can receive NHS care for serious illnesses such as cancer.
The British Medical Association has become the first body representing medical staff to call for the complete abolition of the charges, which have been heavily criticised by MPs and health charities.

Yeah, I was of the age to be exposed to the ones there were not yet vaccines for, so I had measles, mumps, german measles, chicken pox, & the only one in the area to have scarlet fever.

NSS welcomes dismissal of Christian magistrate's appeal
A Christian magistrate who was removed from the judiciary after making comments against same-sex adoption has lost his appeal at an employment tribunal.
Richard Page, a devout Christian, was removed from his position as a magistrate in 2016 for "serious misconduct" after the lord chancellor and lord chief justice determined that Mr Page's comments would have "caused a reasonable person to conclude he was biased and prejudiced against single-sex adopters".

In the bad old days, some badly informed parents would hold Measles and Chickenpox parties where children were deliberately exposed to many childhood diseases. This stupid practice is on the rise again by Anti Vaxers. Read more=.  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pox_party

My own kids were vaccinated against everything, but they all got measles, chicken pox, & mumps. This did not put me off vaccinations.

Comment by Stephen on June 19, 2019 at 2:09pm

It's about time they took away the religious privilege letting parents opt out of vaccinations. After all, vaccines have defeated many of these virulent diseases, that is until thousands of these idiot parents stopped their children from being vaccinated.

Although I had been vaccinated, I had whooping cough as a baby. This however did not stop mother from having me vaccinated against everything else...…..

Islamic school that refused entry to inspector warned by DfE
An independent Islamic faith school has been warned by the government after it refused entry to a school inspector and was rated 'inadequate' by education watchdog Ofsted.
Rashid Raja, the headteacher of Islamic Preparatory School Wolverhampton, refused to allow lead inspector Tim Hill onto the premises on the second day of the school's Ofsted inspection in February.
In its inspection report, Ofsted called the incident "unacceptable" and said it had reported it to the Department for Education (DfE).

‘My mum didn’t vaccinate me – this is what happened next’

Meredith's mother was suspicious about vaccines and would never let her have them as a child. For a while it didn't seem to matter, but eventually, Meredith (not her real name) starting coming down with some frightening illnesses.
It started when I accidentally stood on a nail. Some time afterwards my jaw and shoulder started to seize up and paramedics rushed me to the closest hospital in an ambulance.
It was a teaching hospital in Brisbane and I remember vividly that the doctor left the room saying quietly, "Oh my God!"
He brought in all the medical students to take a look at me. It was tetanus - also known as lockjaw. They hadn't had a patient diagnosed with tetanus in over 30 years.
I was determined and said: "I'm not going to die at 36 because of tetanus."
Despite the pain, I felt angry towards my mother, because she deliberately didn't get me vaccinated. The doctors took white blood cells from someone who had already had tetanus - cells that had proved that they were "seasoned fighters" - and injected them into me to help my white blood cells recognise the illness and fight it.
With this treatment, eventually, I got better. But I was still angry, because this is something that could've been completely prevented.
