Yes, that almighty money......much more important than health, mental or physical.

My husband's implant is worth over $50,000 alone. Could you imagine if we'd had to pay for it along with all the doctor visits, & the surgeons who implanted it, as well as the repeat performance coming up anytime soon now?

This is why the NHS is worth fighting for

"What I owe the hospital that I went to because I was suicidal. This is just to stay in a room for two days. It's expensive being mentally unwell. People wonder why we don't seek help."

This is what it costs when you plead to be taken to hospital in America when you feel you might harm yourself.

This is why we must fight tooth and nail to preserve the NHS.

Exactly!. And not only that but they've been paying taxes all their lives. And even if they didn't are we just to let them starve. I think the Tories wouldn't mind that happening as well.

Pensioners still pay their taxes.

Religion has been on that pedestal for far too long!

We’ll all suffer if we let religion dictate how public servants do their jobs

Politicians have hung a coroner who stood up to religious groups out to dry, says Chris Sloggett. And they've revealed how foolish we are to indulge individualistic demands for state services to accommodate religion.

Protect free expression

The National Secular Society robustly challenges religious threats to free expression.

Our vision for a secular democracy is underpinned by the right to free speech. Without this, democracy cannot exist. We played an instrumental role in abolishing the UK's blasphemy laws, but other threats remain; not least from those who seek to impose their blasphemy taboos on others through violence and intimidation.
Without free speech no search for truth is possible; without free speech no discovery of truth is useful; without free speech progress is checked, and the nations no longer march forward towards the nobler life which the future holds for man. Better a thousand fold abuse of free speech than denial of free speech. The abuse dies in a day; the denial slays the life of the people and entombs the hope of the race.
NSS founder Charles Bradlaugh MP
