My wife was given a pamphlet on the fruit "mangosteen". While I was looking up the Wikipedia article on Mangosteen I came across this web site- http://mangosteen.com/Sciencenonscienceandnonsense.htm .
Where I came across this entry
Non-Science... and nonsense!
"6) Statements that God created the mangosteen, has higher authority than the FDA ( I kid you not!)"
There are other numbered entries but this one jumped out of the page at me.
It is maintained by a mangosteen farmer in the USA, and going on what I have read his farm is in southern Florida. Have a read of the site and enjoy.

Permalink Reply by Adriana on May 30, 2012 at 3:44pm Very interesting article. I never tried mangosteen. I love all kinds of fruit so I'll have to try it. I like that the author of the web site differentiates between anecdotal evidence and actual science. The "god has a higher authority than the FDA cracked me up. It reminds me of a commercial for kosher hot dogs that boasted about their quality and taste, tongue-in-cheek, by stating "We answer to a higher authority." When I was a carnivore I did eat these hot dogs and they were in fact, very good. If you ever visit NYC, stick to hot dog carts that sell that brand. I'm not going to tell you the brand name though I'm sure if you see it, you'll know what I'm talking about.
Was your wife given a pamphlet on the supposedly anti-cancer properties of mangosteen?
