You're probably right Onyango, but there's always a possibility that one or two of the Supreme Court justices will find a streak of moral honesty and defy Trump and his religious cohorts.

Stephen, looks to me like the religious will earn their right to discriminate. The mood of the conservatives is that Trump is the president for religious rights and the court is tilted in a manner that is likely to support such discrimination

Comment by Stephen on February 25, 2020 at 9:47pm

The fight over whether religion is a license to discriminate is back before the Supreme Court

Fulton v. The city of Philadelphia is likely to deal a severe blow to LGBTQ rights.

The Supreme Court announced on Monday that it will hear Fulton v. City of Philadelphia, a hugely consequential case that could fundamentally change the rules governing when people with religious objections to a law may ignore that law.
Fulton asks whether religious organizations that contract with Philadelphia to help place foster children in homes have a First Amendment right to discriminate against same-sex couples. It is also the first case the Supreme Court will hear where a religious group claims the right to violate a ban on discrimination since Justice Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation gave reliably conservative Republicans a majority on the Supreme Court.

Tennessee Lawmaker: No ‘Solid Evidence’ Earth Is 500 Million Years Old

Stupid For Jesus: A Tennessee lawmaker refuses to support a resolution about the Cumberland Plateau because he doesn’t believe the Earth is 500 million years old.
Tennessee State Rep. Chris Todd argued against a resolution in support of the Cumberland Plateau because the resolution cites scientific research showing the plateau’s sandstone and shale are 500 million years old.
Commenting on the resolution, Rep. Todd said he rejected the science, declaring:
(The resolution is) claiming that these sandstone and shale areas date back 500 million years and I take issue with that because I don’t believe we have any solid evidence that the Earth is that old so I don’t want anything to do with with a statement like that.
The Tennessee Holler reports on the story:

Zakir Naik Justifies Apostasy Killings in Islam

I can't believe how brave this man is. He stands up in front of a huge crowd of Braying fanatics and asks a lucid and logical question and is threatened with violence and death if he doesn't reconvert back to Islam. I know for sure I wouldn't have the courage to do the same.

Comment by Mrs.B on February 18, 2020 at 1:48am
