I remember my priest trying to teach me how to pray. He insisted that prayer wasn't just trying to talk to god to ask for things. But at my age at the time (10) I thought sod that for a laugh if I cant ask for things what's the point of him?. haha

The China Q should be thrown out,  i don't think Buddhists pray daily In the West, the notion of prayer is largely ignored in Buddhism. After all, most Buddhist don’t pray to or for anything. Buddhist practice is often seen as the opposite: aspiring to let go of everything.
