This will be a story to watch. After letting one child die from useless prayers, they do it to another. They were on probation from the first killing, they better get life or this one. If they don't, what does it say about religion in America? Do we…Continue

Salafist group warns tomatoes are “Christian”  —  This makes perfect sense... because it makes no sense.  —  A Salafist group called the Popular Egyptian Islamic Association has come under fire after sending out a warning on Facebook urging its followers not to eat tomatoes because the vegetable (or fruit) is a Christian food.

Mormons have an "added dose of a belief in American exceptionalism," Sen. Mike Lee (R-Utah) told The Washington Examiner on Tuesday.

“Mormons sort of have an extra chromosome when it comes to American exceptionalism," said Lee, a Mormon senator from Utah. "Mormons do have an added dose of a belief in American exceptionalism."

Interesting looking book, and I love the pun in the title:

Nailed: Ten Christian Myths That Show Jesus Never Existed at All

Why would anyone think Jesus never existed? Isn't it perfectly reasonable to accept that he was a real first century figure? As it turns out, no. NAILED sheds light on ten beloved Christian myths, and, with evidence gathered from historians across the theological spectrum, shows how they point to a Jesus Christ created solely through allegorical alchemy of hope and imagination; a messiah transformed from a purely literary, theological construct into the familiar figure of Jesus - in short, a purely mythic Christ.

You may have seen this one recently - perhaps under a headline such as How Religion Promotes Confidence About Paternity. It's an eye-catching headline, but that's not actually what the study showed - for a start, they didn't compare religious with non-religious people.
