Hi everyone. i am working on project for a class and for it I am asking some questions on worldviews. If you are willing I would really appreciate it if you would answer these questions for me.
1.What is actually reality? What is really real?
2.What is the world around us? (is physical, spiritual, in our heads, etc.)
3. What are we? What is a human being? What is our purpose, or is there even a purpose at all?
4. What happens when we die?
5. is it possible to know anything at all, and why?
6. How do we know what is right and wrong?
7. What is the meaning of human history? What is its purpose?
Chris, I can throw an elephant farther than I would trust the RCC.
For instance, ask Catholic Charities to help:
1) a woman who for personal health reasons needs to terminate a pregnancy,
2) a man or a woman who for genetic reasons, or any other reason, wants to use birth control.
Any kind of religious organization would be at the end of my preferred donor list.
I'm sure you've noticed that ChildFund International dropped "Christian" from the title.
Or did they actually reorganize?
Awww gee and I always thought it was the Ferryman across the river Styx where Hermes the messenger takes my soul when I die!
You could only cross the river if the Ferryman was paid with coins on each of your closed eyes.
Yeah! I forgot that! That is why the Irish put pennies on the eyes of the dead as they hold a wake for them, their last party!
I don't know, but some of this myth may have something to do with a lucky penny.
I heard that it wasn't a penny, but was as sixpence.
There must be an entire story behind this.
The guy wearing the white lab coat? Standing behind Peter?
That's God; he thinks he's a doctor.
Did you see the Matt Lour show about Dr. Kent Brantly? It was blatantly and sickeningly religious.
Reports so far are saying the survival rate is 50%, which is surprising considering previous survival rates are only 10-20%. Attributing his survival to divine intervention is wishful. The medical treatment he received probably helped, but as yet can't be determined as he may have survived anyway.
I won't answer all the question one by one but let me write you what ı think generally about that questions.
You can find all of the answers you need in a new dicipline call evolutionary psychology. It will really help you. Let me tell you about it in a nutshell. It is all about the selfish genes of ours. Human body and all living things around us are just machines developed not designed by blind evolutionary process to cary copy and spread out the genes that they cary.
This is the main point. .You can start from here.
I think Dawkins got the selfish gene right.
