Many places now have community gardens, & I noticed last summer, our town had food planted in the usual city flower gardens.

We have here in the UK an allotment scheme were people who haven't got gardens of their own can sign up for the scheme especially those that live in the inner cities. But the waiting list is long.

Beautiful, Daniel.

I've read about community gardens in the United States, the UK and Africa.  That's a great idea.

Gardening is what keeps me somewhat sane.

For many years, I have used a fluorescent light fixture, made from a cheap ceiling light fixture,an electrical cord, CFL lights, and a metal chimney liner. At the moment, there are geranium starts and a couple of orchids under that. Later I may move those to a window to make room for tomato starts.

------

Daniel I understand that there are some 'full sprectum' led's that work for green houses.

Might be looking into.

Have you heard of those upside down tomato baskets that can be grrown off a balcony?

Here is the first link I came across I know there are others that are likely less expensive.

At least its a productive crazy.

Daniel I'll always remember the name because it made me and my sister laugh, they were called Big boy bush Tomatoes. I had a couple of grow bags on my balcony and my sister had the same. We both faced south she was a few stories below me. She always managed to beat me in the size of the crop.

The colours do look weird Daniel but as you say what works works. I live on the fourteenth floor and have only a small balcony where I  have been known to grow toms.

Broken concrete makes good retaining walls as tire walls, but  isn't typically architecturally, or asthetically pleasing.

Why do you think cremation results in more pollution?

Why do many of the living think their dead relatives  must be burried in a graveyard?

Why do many think the remains of dead ones have to be found before there is 'closure?'
