Lost PLA Casting from 3D Prints

Success! Jeshua Lacock recounted his experience of casting metal parts directly from 3D Printed PLA with a fantastic photo-filled writeup and video. He prints the part with his Ultimaker and pours mold material around it before letting it set. After the mold hardens, it's placed in his homemade furnace to melt away the PLA, leaving a beautiful female mold behind, into which he can pour molten metal.

Brendan Dawes: Sharing Your Work

Brendan's known for early interactive web projects like Psycho Studio, that allows users to remix Hitchcock's famous shower scene themselves. He's also known for his physical projects, such as the Moviepeg and Popa iPhone accessories, and devices that cross the digital/physical divide, such as the Happiness Machine, an internet-connected printer that prints random happy thoughts from people across the web. Robot heads from the Korea Institute of Science and Technology’s Center for Intelligent Robotics perform the classic song. It's very weird., very intense, and very bizarre. What more do you want from a robot performance?
