The preposterous, the ridiculous, the manipulative.
Rupert Murdock is not a friend of humanity. This brainchild of his, ridiculous as it stands, is poisonning the whole North American consensus. In cases like that the doctor recommends satire and ridicule.
Post your favorite clips and newsbits here. Of course satirical material is more than welcome. The Onion, Daily Show, Colbert Report...
Please note: Comedy Central videos are not visible outside the USA.

Comment by doone on April 29, 2012 at 10:30pm JOEL OSTEEN: ‘THE SCRIPTURE SAYS THAT BEING GAY IS A SIN’ | Mega church leader Joel Osteen reiterated his belief that “the scripture says that being gay is a sin,” telling Fox News’ Chris Wallace Sunday morning, “my faith is based on what I believe the scripture says and that’s the way I read the scripture.” Asked if gay people are entitled to equal rights, Osteen insisted “I don’t think we should discriminate against anybody” before adding, “I am not for gay marriage.” Watch it:

Judging by her Twitter avatar pic, we should call her "she of the happy Photoshop"

To a man? "Sandra Fluke Announces Engagement"

Comment by doone on April 26, 2012 at 3:57pm Crowley’s fake surprise that Fluke is not in fact a lesbian is especially ironic given the attacks that her network leveled against Fluke in February. For weeks, she was criticized ceaselessly by the conservative media for demanding that health insurance providers cover contraception, ridiculed by Fox News hosts like Bill O’Reilly for not simply buying her birth control at Target for $9, and mocked endlessly by Limbaugh for having too much sex.
The vitriol that accompanied Fluke for weeks even rubbed off onto her new fiancé. Adam Mutterperl, a comedy writer and producer, was criticized by conservative websites like the Daily Caller for his family’s ties to Democratic politics. Crowley’s comments are just the latest controversy the Fox News host has found herself in. Back in 2008, she was caught plagiarizing(again) someone else’s parody of progressive advocacy group MoveOn, and last year she calledDNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz “she of the angry perm.”

Comment by doone on April 24, 2012 at 9:05pm Over the weekend, we enjoyed some intra-News Corp drama when The Simpsons wished their Fox colleagues a happy 25th anniversary in a special title card at the end of the show — but made sure to clarify that “This doesn’t include Fox News.” Well, inevitably, Fox stalwart and continual source of Colbert Report inspiration Bill O’Reilly had a response to Matt Groening and co’s slight. In a 30-second segment on last night’s The O’Reilly Factor, he called The Simpsons‘ gag “dopey” and a “cheap shot,” pronouncing it “predictable.” That last accusation may be true, but is there anything more predictable than a conservative talk-show host overreacting to a cartoon? Watch the clip after the jump.

Comment by doone on April 24, 2012 at 11:34am Fox News host person Steve Doocy just went on the air to correct the fabricated version of an Obama quote he used in an interview with Mitt Romney last week. But it was a classic non-correction correction, referring to it as a ‘paraphrase’ and then not explaining the words he had added.

Fox celebrated their 25 year anniversary last night. This message came on the screen after the re-airing of their first episode.

Frances Martel / Mediaite:

Comment by doone on April 17, 2012 at 1:10pm Update: Mediaite spoke to Stefano, who confirmed to us that this was her first time on the panel with Beckel and that even before the program “I said, ‘he’s so charming, how can I yell at him?’ I find Bob to be charming, and who among us hasn’t done the same?” “Bob and I wanted to make sure Sean looked good,” she tells us jokingly, “since he had promised fireworks on the panel at the beginning of the show,” adding that “I am confident that, if Bob had realized we were live, he wouldn’t have said that… It is far from the end of the world. I’m from Philadelphia, you hear these things a lot.” She also noted that some open mic moments have been worse: “Compared to President Obama selling us off to Russia on a hot mic, Beckel came out well!”
