Here too.

Yeah, and it makes me feel sick especially coming from the mouths of America's leaders. If a Member of Parliament was to act that way they would be laughed out of office.

Comment by Mrs.B on February 7, 2019 at 8:39pm

They all chant that everywhere.

Comment by Stephen on February 7, 2019 at 8:28pm

I can't Imagine those sort of chants coming from any other democratic parliaments. Lawmakers acting like the mob. The anti-socialist jibes from Trump sickened me, how easy it was to stir up the duly elected mob.

Watch: The three times Trump’s SOTU speech drew chants of ‘USA, USA’

Several parts of US President Donald Trump’s State of the Union speech drew chants from lawmakers of “USA, USA” on Tuesday night.
The call first came in response to Trump’s assertion that “America is winning each and every day”.

“After 24 months of rapid progress, our economy is the envy of the world, our military is the most powerful on earth,” he said.
It was later heard across the chamber when the president highlighted the increasing role of women in Congress.
“Exactly one century after Congress passed the Constitutional Amendment giving women the right to vote, we also have more women serving in Congress than ever before,” the president said.

The comment drew particularly enthusiastic chants from female lawmakers, many of whom dressed in white for the occasion to honour the legacy of women’s suffrage.
It was again heard when Trump vowed that the US would “never be a socialist country”.
However, independent Senator Bernie Sanders was among those not joining in on this occasion.

Pope acknowledges scandal of priests sexually abusing nuns

Pope Francis has for the first time publicly acknowledged the scandal of priests and bishops sexually abusing nuns, and says he is committed to doing more to fight the problem.
Speaking to reporters on board the papal plane, Francis said: “Should we do something more? Yes. Is there the will? Yes. But it’s a path that we have already begun.”
Francis noted that Pope Benedict XVI had taken action against a French order after some of its religious sisters had been reduced to “sexual slavery” at the hands of priests or their founder.
The issue has come to the forefront amid the Catholic Church’s overall reckoning with the sexual abuse of minors and the #MeToo-inspired acknowledgement that adults can be victims of abuse when there is an imbalance of power in a relationship.

Is the GOP achieving its greatest, albeit final, success?

Ed Rogers, a Washington lobbyist, former Republican White House staffer and all-round partisan hack, describes his party's almost indescribable expectations yesterday for its president's belated SOTU address:

"This week, as I talked to Republicans around the country, many asked whether Trump could achieve a big moment…. Republicans were craving a non-event, a moment of normalcy that did not leave them embarrassed and on the defensive Wednesday. They hoped for nothing that would cause head-shaking demoralizing bewilderment and/or shell-shocked mumbling among the GOP faithful. And the president delivered. He was not a terrifying wild man."

Trumps SOTU Address should be titled

Gone with the windbag.

I've never heard so much revisionism about the condition of the American economy

Greek Metropolitan Bishop convicted for inciting anti-LGBTQ+ violence

On January 28, in a groundbreaking court decision in Greece, Metropolitan bishop Amvrosios of Kalavryta and Egion was sentenced to seven months’ imprisonment by a three-judge lower court on charges of hate speech, incitement to violence, and abuse of religious office for a homophobic article published online. The sentence was suspended for three years and a 10,000 euros fine as the bishop had no criminal record prior to this charge.
