Our Canadian cheese is different from the US too. That's one thing mother said when they moved to California. Our bacon is also different.

I'm one of those lucky Northern Europeans who are not only tolerant of lactose but even adores cheeses from around the world [Not American Cheese]

Dizzying Geometric Pies and Tarts by Lauren Ko

Lauren Ko brings mathematical precision to her baking, using elaborate intertwined patterns to form transfixing patterns to the top of her homemade pies and tarts. Ko combines classic crusts with colorful fillings like blueberries, kumquats, purple sweet potatoes, and pluots to create her visually striking sweets.

WikiLeaks Cables Reveal U.S. Sought to Retaliate Against Europe ove...

U.S. diplomatic cables released by WikiLeaks reveal the Bush administration drew up ways to retaliate against Europe for refusing to use genetically modified seeds. In 2007, then-U.S. ambassador to France Craig Stapleton was concerned about France’s decision to ban cultivation of genetically modified corn produced by biotech giant Monsanto. He also warned that a new French environmental review standard could spread anti-biotech policy across Europe. We speak with Jeffrey Smith of the Institute for Responsible Technology. There was a stock yard near the town I used to live in.  Anyone who saw the condidions there with cattle standing in fecies up to their waist would probably stop eating beef.

The A-hole who owned that stockyard was in a bunch of financial problems - was sued  and I think he eventually went to prison for fraud.

I stopped drinking milk and eating cheese after learning about the bovine growth hormone. Disgusting.

It's amazing sickening how much power Monsanto (the manufacturer of Roundup) has, not only here in the U.S., but world wide.
