Nice Comment
This a good one Davy. Grammar police need to get a life
Yes, if it's understandable.......that's all we need.
Here is something to run past you
'Tis is the correct spelling for "it is " but quite often I see it spelt " Tis"
It's and Its are the one I use to get mixed up a lot when younger.
When I write I avoid using words that require an apostrophe to indicate a unwritten letter, tend to write them out in full.
As for grammar as long as what you write is understandable most people don't worry about whether there is an apostrophe or not they automatically put it in place when they read it.
Grammar police have to much time and very little to occupy their minds and due to their nature that they have to have something to bitch about.
There are words that originally where hyphenated but to-day are written as a single word, just to be a bit of a larrikin I hyphenate them.
That will be all for to-night folks.
I am with Mrs B on this one. I try to check my grammar and punctuation but sometimes something passes unnoticed and I don't expect anyone to make hell of it. It's not I'm in a grammar class or something
Well I guess we'll need to arrest & charge you with breaking grammar & punctuation laws, huh?
I was pulled up for committing the worst of crime mistaking His and He's. Oh, the horror.
Exactly, & as far as I'm concerned, I'm not online to be corrected by other people for how I type something.
I agree with you Mrs B. As for myself, I'm the worst at punctuation, I do my best but I fail big time. And you know what, I couldn't care less.
I have used ''it's'' for ''it is'' for years, & was told a few months ago by someone online that I was wrong.
Now I'm no grammar police, but I don't much like being corrected for how I type online. Many are a lot worse, & I do not call them up on it.
Apostrophe society shuts down because 'ignorance and laziness have won'
A society dedicated to preserving the correct use of the apostrophe has shut down because "ignorance has won".
Retired journalist John Richards, 96, started the Apostrophe Protection Society in 2001 to make sure the “much-abused” punctuation mark was being used correctly.
But Mr Richards has now announced: “With regret I have to announce that, after some 18 years, I have decided to close the Apostrophe Protection Society.
“There are two reasons for this. One is that at 96 I am cutting back on my commitments and the second is that fewer organisations and individuals are now caring about the correct use of the apostrophe in the English Language."
He added: “We, and our many supporters worldwide, have done our best but the ignorance and laziness present in modern times have won.”
Mr Richards started the society after seeing the "same mistakes over and over again" and hoped he would find half a dozen people who felt the same way.

Common apostrophe mistakes
1) "It's" is only correct as a contraction of "it is", and an apostrophe would not be correct even in the possessive form.
2) "You're" means "you are", and should not be confused with "your", despite sounding the same.
3) Apostrophes are never used for plurals.

"I didn't find half a dozen people," he said on his website.
"Instead, within a month of my plaint appearing in a national newspaper, I received over 500 letters of support, not only from all corners of the United Kingdom, but also from America, Australia, France, Sweden, Hong Kong and Canada."
His website lists three simple rules for the correct use of the apostrophe.
The rules Mr Richards gave for apostrophes are: They are used to denote a missing letter or letters, they are used to denote possession and apostrophes are never ever used to denote plurals.
