We are a worldwide social network of freethinkers, atheists, agnostics and secular humanists.
Where we share information on climatology and the changing Earth's climate.
With of course a special thought for deniers and those who would profit from denial.

Drought-stricken Cape Town, South Africa, moves up 'day zero' date in April when it could run out of water

Ah, global warming. Is that still a thing with the reality group? I thought the conservative anti-science pro-myth group had abolished facts.
According to NASA estimates, 2017 was the second warmest year on record since 1880. Henry Fountain, Jugal K. Patel, and Nadja Popovich reporting for The New York Times:
What made the numbers unexpected was that last year had no El Niño, a shift in tropical Pacific weather patterns that is usually linked to record-setting heat and that contributed to record highs the previous two years. In fact, last year should have benefited from a weak version of the opposite phenomenon, La Niña, which is generally associated with lower atmospheric temperatures.
Good times ahead.

There is something incomplete about this article from the NYT's.
Where plastic goes is a wash.
Yeah! Well according to those that are exporting their trash to Zhongguo it's to bloody costly to do it at home so they export it and make plenty of moolah instead.
After the wait
I'll try again.
Plastics Pile Up as China Refuses to Take the West’s Recycling
查看繁體中文版 By KIMIKO de FREYTAS-TAMURAJAN. 11, 2018 LONDON —
Ever since China announced last year that it no longer wanted to be the “world’s garbage dump,” recycling about half of the globe’s plastics and paper products, Western nations have been puzzling over what to do when the ban went into effect, which it did on Jan. 1. The answer, to date, in Britain at least, is nothing. At least one waste disposal site in London is already seeing a buildup of plastic recyclables and has had to pay to have some of it removed. Similar backups have been reported in Canada, Ireland, Germany and several other European nations, while tons of rubbish is piling up in port cities like Hong Kong. Steve Frank, of Pioneer Recycling in Oregon, owns two plants that collect and sort 220,000 tons of recyclable materials each year. A majority of it was until recently exported to China. “My inventory is out of control,” he said. China’s ban, Mr. Frank said, has caused “a major upset of the flow of global recyclables.” Now, he said, he is hoping to export waste to countries like Indonesia, India, Vietnam, Malaysia — “anywhere we can” — but “they can’t make up the difference.” In Britain, Jacqueline O’Donovan, managing director of the British waste disposal firm, O’Donovan Waste Disposal, said that “the market has completely changed” since China’s decision went into effect. Her company collects and disposes of about 70,000 tons of plastic trash every year, she said, and expects “huge bottlenecks across the whole of England” in the coming months.

While most attention has been given to carbon dioxide, it isn’t the only greenhouse gas that scientists are worried about. Carbon dioxide is the most important human-emitted greenhouse gas, but methane has also increased in the atmosphere and it adds to our concerns.
While methane is not currently as important as carbon dioxide, it has a hidden danger. Molecule for molecule, methane traps more heat than carbon dioxide; approximately 30 times more, depending on the time frame under consideration. However, because methane is present in much smaller concentrations (compared to carbon dioxide), its aggregate effect is less.

There is a fake IPCC Report about climate change called the NIPCC.
The NIPCC study is fraud. If you look at the IPCC report page by page against the NIPCC report they look the same.
Of course the text is diffetent. The NIPPC is full of falshoods.
The IPCC's Latest Report Deliberately Excludes and Misrepresents Important Climate Science.

Climate Science & Policy Watch reports Heartland Institute and it's NIPCC report fail the credibility test..
The discredited Heartland Institute is attempting to present its new NIPCC report, Climate Change Reconsidered, as a legitimate alternative authority to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). But the NIPCC report is not a credible scientific undertaking, and the Heartland Institute has no credibility, scientific or otherwise.
Update: The Heartland Institute is planning to launch Climate Change Reconsidered at an event on September 18.
